Forty Years of Project Work in India and Sri Lanka

Only in 1990/91, a regular office structure with full-time staff of a significant scale was introduced. For little longer than a year FNF operated from a suite in Claridge's Hotel, with a Director (Dr. Jürgen Axer) and three staff members – all of whom are still working for the Foundation!! In 1991, FNF relocated to the USO House in the Special Institutional Area where we still reside. A few years later, following a re-structuring of the Foundation's work abroad, the Delhi Office became the Regional Office South Asia of FNF. After Dr. Axer, Dr. Rainer Adam and Hubertus von Welck the current Representative, Dr. René Klaff, is the fourth Regional Director of FNF in South Asia.

In Colombo, the Foundation will have a festive Reception on September 24 to celebrate its 40th anniversary in the country. In Delhi, we will commemorate 40 years of project work in India with a symposium on "Liberal Values: Opportunities for Liberalism in India"on 27 September, 2008.
