Taking this up, Liberal Forum Pakistan recently examined the Pak-India peace process at a well attended seminar at Faisalabad.
Among the distinguished guests were Shri B. K. Tripathy, Member of Parliament and Former Steel Minister of India, Dr. Mrs. Malti Thapar, Former Health Minister of India, Barrister J. C. Batra, Senior Lawyer Indian Supreme Court, Mrs. Syeda Abiad Hussan, Former Pakistani Ambassador to USA, Mr. I. A. Rehman, Director HRCP and Mr. Asif Khan, Chairperson of LFP.
The speakers coming from both of the countries pointed out the importance of the improvement of the neighborhood relations in favor of the citizens. Speakers and participants were quite candid in their examination of the peace process and while welcoming it also called for greater investment in the peace process. The seminar was followed by an entertaining dance performance by Indian and Pakistani dancers.
LFP intends to facilitate the peace process by closely working with Indian liberal counterparts like the Indian Liberal Group for a tolerant and peaceful South Asia.
