Stand on Your Own Feet

FNSt partner Business Development Services (BDS) launched their promotional brochure titled “Stand on Your Own Two Feet” in May 2007. The Brochure details the much in demand “Gainful Employment” programme, which targets the young adults in their formative years. Ms. Caroline Heun, the Second Secretary of the German Embassy in Sri Lanka was the Chief Guest at the official launch. The Head of the GtZ in Sri Lanka, Dr. Roland Steuerer and Member of Parliament Hon. Ravi Karunanayake too attended the official launch.

Subsequently, the Brochure was presented to Hon. Prof. G.L. Peiris, Minister of Export Development & International Trade, who has participated in several of the “Gainful Employment” Programmes and has highly recommended the initiative as directly addressing the deficiencies of the local educational system. The Brochure was also presented to Hon. Karu Jayasuriya, Minister of Public Administration & Home Affairs.
