Praja Foundation is a non-government organisation registered as a Trust in March 1999. Since its inception the organisation has been working towards the goal of increasing transparency and accountability within the current system of governance as an essential requirement of a civil society and democracy.

The activities of the Praja Foundation are focussed in the area, of Democracy and Good Governance. One of their objectives is increase people’s participation in civic governance: Empower citizens with information on their rights vis-á-vis public services and encourage them to pressurise the service providers for the same.
